What is the name of our solar system?
Question:
Answer:
The Solar System ...(A part of a Galaxy called 'The Milky Way').
An Earthling is a 'Terran'.
'Terra' refers to Earth as in 'On Terra Firma'..on solid ground.
the Milky-way.
the milky way
Terron is very Earth-centric and very sci-fi. If you can get people to go along, great. But there is no official name for our solar system (I've sometimes seen it called the Sol System, which isn't very unique).
Our solar system doesn't have a name. We just decided to name every other one but ours. I guess its official name could be 'The Solar System'
I agree with norrie's post
The Solar System.
The solar system was named long before we knew that other solar systems existed. Just like the Sun is not the only Sun in the universe but we still call it the Sun.

THE MILKY WAY
It really doesn't have a name. "Terron" should be "terran," but that refers to Earth alone, which is a tiny part of our solar system. I suppose it should be named after the Sun, but the Sun doesn't really have a name either. It's simply known as "The Sun" in each of the thousands of local languages of Earth: The Sun, Le Soleil, Die Sonne, etc. Some people use the Latin form, "Sol," which makes sense since the planets are referred to by their Latin names, at least in English.
Your name is as good as any. Having a name implies that somebody or something defined it. As far as I know, this hasn't happened.
It doesn't have one. Since, until quite recently, it was the only one known, it was simply "the" solar system. Considering what the astronomers are discovering nowadays, we may have to re-think that fairly soon.
The name of our solar system is "Sol" because that is the name of our sun.
we live in the Sol system.
