Why is Solar Power not Used Like Everywhere?
Question:
Help..is Society High or am I?
Answer:
It's simply that there are cheaper ways to get energy right now. So solar has a few specialized applications; areas where there aren't power lines (highway road signs, some houses, in outer space) and is also used by some people who want to live more environmentally and are willing to spend extra money. Or by some companies who are willing to spend extra money to show they are concerned about the environment.
But other forms of energy are getting more expensive while solar is getting cheaper. So it will be used more and more.
.
because it so inefficient it would take many 100s kilometers of panels to power one city, and far more storage batteries.solar panels have a minor contribution but not much
Solar panels are very expensive and don't have a very long lifespan. They are not economical.
1) Because of the high cost of solar cells.
2) Not everywhere has enough sunshine to make them worth while
3) Industrial 24 hour users can't store enough solar power to keep them running through the night
alright the productivity of solar power very muc depend on its efficiency. the main reason being the energy generated is not enough for commercial consumption. it is feasible for smaller applications though like calculators and etc. one day our cell phone might as well use solar power so det it need not be charged. neat idea right saves the fuss of charging it every few days
Because the efficiency of solar panels is very low. Solar energy cannot satisfy our growing energy demands.
The amount you spend to configure a solar panel is more than the energy you get from it.
They are just 35% efficient.
it providess too little current... and it's expensive
Because the technology that is currently used in solar power is still relatively ineffecient. The efficiency is only like 20% at the maximum. And solar panels are VERY expensive too, considering the fact that they produce very much less energy than something else of equal pricing.
You aren't high, you just don't know what is involved.
And don't forget the cost and environmental impact of all those lead batteries you have to buy & replace every few years.
I believe solar energy has not yet passed the break-even point where it collects more energy that it takes to make the equipment, so it only makes sense when you're "off the grid" somewhere that you can't string a wire.
solar power is still not very practical, however here in the south west where it seldom rains they do have some solar usage, but not enough, you need to work on it and see if you cant improve things so more people can use solar power with any sort of luck. thanks for being there.
You do not need solar cells ...there are better ways to use the heat and make turbines rotate for energy generations...govts. must be willing to spend on this rather than burn and spend on clean up.
