What is a solar house in means of architecture??

Question:

Answer:
A solar was a private or upper chamber in a medieval English house. Also known as a sollar, or a soller.

The word does not originate from the connotations of the sun, rather from the Middle English and Middle Dutch words for a loft.
Today the term solar building is used for buildings that are designed so as to make maximum use of solar energy. There are many ways to do so. The simplest is to orientate the building and its windows so as to have lots of sun in the winter and less in summer. More complicated systems include central heating powered by solar panels or even solar panels for generating electricity. In warm countries with lots of sun this kind of deign may reduce the building's operation costs (heating, air-conditioning, electricity) dramatically.
