God didn't know there was any such thing as planet or galaxy.
They wrote bible as what they saw, some bunch of stars, a planet called Venus, which they thought was brightest "star" as it looks, and called it Lucifer.
God barely goes into details, as you can see, he was ignorant.
Bible was clearly written by men who didn't know any damn thing about Universe, nor earth.
God created all, and who knows id other planets were populated at one time?
The heavens...meaning the universal heavens.

Why did he not create people on other planets...because He chose not to? I don't know why he didn't.

Actually, it says He created the "HEAVENS" and the earth. There are 3 heavens in the Bible, heaven the atmosphere, heaven outer space, and Heaven the dwelling place of God. by creating outer space, He created everything in it.
I can tell you the answers you're going to get for this one:
A) The Bible isn't all-inclusive, it only tells us what we need to know to lives our lives properly
B) It isn't for us to question his actions or reasons

There's 3 heavens mentioned in Scripture.Created for what?His glory.No life?Because we are unique as humans,and all lifeforms were put here on earth.
He did not mention the planets and the solar system because the people at that time will not be able to comprehend. What they recognize then were the sun, earth, moon and the stars. Remember our senses are being limited by our four-dimensional space. Just because we can not detect life in those places does not necessarily mean there is none. History tells us sometimes we should doubt our 5 senses.

The fundie answer would be that "he" created everything that exists. Which presumably would include killer tornadoes like the one that recently destroyed the town in Kansas, killer hurricanes like Katrina, killer Tsunamis, the 1906 SF earthquake, and lots of other very nice things.
Unfortunately none of us really knows the full answer, but 'the heavens' do include our solar system. God created all things and in all things there is life, right down to the smallest atom and molecule. Our incarnation is concerned with this solar system, but undoubtedly God has created many worlds.

The Bible says God created our stars, sun and moon. In other words, our Galaxy is unique for us, but we know there are billions of other galaxies.
The Bible says we are a spectacle to the universe. Others are watching what is happening here, and angels assigned to minister personally for our salvation.
Interesting, measurements of our universe show that everything is traveling away from earth. In other words, God´s youngest planet was created at the center. It was His final act. And because of what we are going through, after Armageddon it will be recreated and be the Capitol of the galaxies. Yes, the least will become the greatest.

It doesn't matter. If He created heaven and earth, its a common sense that all things between heaven and earth are also created by Him.
He didn't tell about it specifically, like "I created Pluto, I created Jupiter...and so on." He only said, "Let there be light". It means the Sun. Sun is the biggest among all planets, so if He created the sun, he also must created the others planets. What for? To show human the wonders of His creation.
Don't think too much about the other planets, its just amazing and great miscellanous stuff created by God. You just need to ask one question, "Why He created you?".
In the beggining = time
God created the heavens = space which is also the planets
and the Earth = Earth

Whatever you believe, all christians should ask themselves this:
Do I believe all this stuff because I went out, personally experienced it and personally spent years researching and talking to all major religions.. OR
Do you believe it all Because you were TOLD to, by your parents and schools i.e Tradition, Authority and Revelation...oh and revelation isn't that scary book you find in the back of your bible, it's what your 'Pope' does, it's what OFFICIALLY gives him his self-professed authority (Check it all out..something Christians don't like to do! Galileo & copernicus checked it all out, look what your Christian church did and thought of them!!) so old Popey goes into a private room, where no-one else is allowed and there GOD REVEALS his thoughts to the pope and they become official docrine (or dogma truth be told).
So if you are going to aks a question like that on here, you KNOW the type of answer you are going to get, I mean just read them all!
Why don't you a) start reading astronomical books, b) buy a telescope, c) start investigating the world for YOURSELF, not 'taking it as read' that GOD created the heavens and earth and then asking a question that astronomers, physicists, mathmaticians (REAL people who find out for THEMSELVES not like Christians who are TOLD what to think) have been working on since the CHRISTIAN church tried to prevent them from for hundreds of years.

They believe the earth was created in six days, and that Noah built built a boat big enough for two of every animal - Funny, you don't hear much about kangaroos or Koala's in that story!
The Roman Catholic Church put Galileo Galilei under house arrest for claiming that the earth went round the Sun, and that Church of Satan has only recently ( 31 October 1992 - Pope John Paul II) expressed regret for how the Galileo affair was handled.

Maybe he did maybe he didnt...? As a Christian it doesnt really matter. Christians dont need to know the reasoning behind everything in the universe. They don't need a complete script for creation in which the science behind everything that ever existed is explained from a Christian perspective. Christianity is rather about how you live your life and how you treat others. Its not about having to have all the answers to astronomy or physics.
Hi there. The bible was NOT written by God and nobody claims it was - that is the Koran they are thinking of. The bible was written by men and clearly says so. They meant well and struggled to put their understandng into words, reported what they had, but were limited in physical knowledge. So the other bodies of the universe are not mentioned because they were unknown to the writers, who had trouble enough trying to cope with the Earth, Sun and Moon! And I would love to tell you what it is all for, but I don't know. Nobody does. the purpose is most likely nothing to do with humanity at all.
God the creator set up all the mechanisms of the universe and set them all in motion, one path of which leads to us. But there are so very many other paths and no matter what human ego says, we are a tiny fraction of the whole. Every time somebody tries to pin creation down and limit what God has accomplished, they just make themselves look stupid and show that the limitation is in themselves. Evolution is Gods path, our challenge is to understand it not look stupid trying to deny it!
So all the creation currently manifest comes from the creator at source, but be aware - only a fraction of creation is within our present understanding and there is a lot more to come, there are NO limits on God!

At present I do not believe a god created anything. And the more I learn, the more I am convinced of this.
I prefer to think that he set the laws of physics in motion that allowed planets to evolve rather than intervening personally

You are taking a text from thousands of years ago, translated by a bloke in a time when the original language was dead, adapted by various groups of people and then pitches up in the 21st century only to have someone argue about it's meaning.
