Angle of Separation and Solar Noon?

What is the connection between angle of separation and solar noon?

Thanks!

Answer:
Hi. Assuming you mean separation of the Sun from the horizon, solar noon is the time when the Sun is furthest from the horizon. It is NOT 12:00 local because, due to the elliptical nature of Earth's orbit, it varies over the course of a year by about 15 minutes either side of local mean noon.
