I purchased one of those fish with the solar pool cover liquid in it. I wanted to know if it really works or is it just a gimmick.

It works really well it is like the color black those covors absorb sun and then transfer the energy/heat to the pool even work on cloudy days
They work relly well
We used the 'fish' last year. During this time we had less evaporation (where most of the heat loss is) and our heating bill was lower. These liquid pool covers are only good up to one month and the recirculating jets must be aimed toward the bottom of the pool to be effective. Yes, they work.
