Question:
I have a 7.2 volt remote-control car that I would like to operate using a solar panel so that I don't have to deal with rechargable batteries anymore since they lose their capacity after so many charges. Do you think it's possible and if so do you know where I might find a panel that would be suitable? Thanks.
Answer:
Why not build your own one
solar panels can be used to run a car . they are avilable in most electronic shops / garden supplies shops also have them for rechargable lanturns. the problem is that can the car carry the solarpanel and voltage regulators and still move?? . i have seen model boats fitted with them but in water it is a diffrent . check out the new gen film based panels which are lighter and more efficient. optionally try Li ion or NI metal halide battries ( similar to cell phone battries ) they are light and can be recharged over 2000 times.
