I think that both evolutionists and creationists should think that there is intelligent life out there somewhere.
For evolutionists, the odds are too great in the expanses to for there not to be evolution on other planets
For creationists, if an all-intelligent, all-powerful being created this world with humans, why would he stop. It would logically follow that he would make more.
It is common sense that we cannot be the only intelligent species in the universe.

Pond scum is a poor conversationalist. SETI definitively demonstrates there is no technological life within a 50 lightyear radius of Earth. The New World in continued isolation would have *never* evolved electromagnetics. The culture was incapable of that kind of thought. It didn't even discover the wheel. A whole planet like that is only valuable as conquest.

I think so. There are so many stars in so many galaxies, trillions and trillions at least, that I can't believe that life is unique to Earth. There must be a million worlds in our galaxy alone that harbors vegetation and simple animal life. But intelligent technological species like ours must be very very rare. There may just be a handful of them in our own galaxy, if that.

I think it would be arrogant of us Earthlings to think our solar system is the only place for life in this universe.
I do believe there is life beyond our solar system. Heck there may be life in this solar system. Lots hasn't been investigated yet. There could be bacteria out there, both in or out of our solar system.
As for intelligent life? Sometimes I wonder about intelligent life here on Earth. I do believe there is intelligent life in the universe.
Now think about the number of stars in the universe. There are too many stars for scientists to actually count one-by-one, so other methods of estimating the total number of stars are used. We believe that there are on the order of 1021 stars in our Universe. If you write that number out, it looks like this: 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000. This is a lot of stars!
Now think if 1% have solar systems --> that is 1x10^19 stars that have solar systems.
Now think if 1% of those have an Earth like planet --> that is 1x10^17 solar systems with an earth like planet.
Now if 1% of those could support life --> that is 1 x 10^15 Earths that could support life
And if 1% of those do have life --> then 1 x 10^13 (1000000000000) have life.
I would like to think there is life out there somewhere.
