All the moons in our solar system have a name execpt ours. Or do we have one? what is its name?
Question:
Answer:
It's really just the moon... It wasn't until the 1600's, when we started using telescopes, did we discover that the *other* planets also had moons - so THEY needed to be named... but ours already had the FIRST moon name. To name it now would be demeaning.
I've heard its name was Luna.
Its called Luna - latin for moon.
We don't usually refer to it s Luna as it is our closest and only moon, hence the generic term the Moon.
Kinda like Earth is called Earth, rather than Gaia - goddess of earth.
The name is Luna.
Luna
The Earth's companion is called Luna.
But technically the Earth and Moon are a double-planet system, not a planet and its satellite. If Luna were the Earth's satellite, its orbit around the Earth would cause it to fall away from the sun from time to time. Instead, the Earth and the Moon both revolve around a common center of gravity.
There is a name for the moon in every language. "Moon" is the English word, "luna" is Russian and Spanish and "bulan" is Indonesian, for example.
The Moon was considered a god by many ancients. The Romans attributed Earth's companion to Diana, the goddess of the hunt. The Babylonians related it to the god Sin. The Egyptians attributed our Moon to Chon. And so on. So there are many names for our moon.
Yeah, its just called The Moon. Luna is another name for it, but its not official. Look on wikipedia.

Here there is sufficient information for u.
A lot...
In my native language, Romanian, i have been calling it Luna since dad 1st told me what it was...so...i never really knew any other name...we also generalize for the other Moons (Luni) :) but why should it have a different name? best thing is you don't have to struggle to remember it :)
I think it's called "The Moon"
The other orbiting satellites around other planets have other names to not confuse them with the original.
Luna
Our moon doesn't need a formal name - there is only one, and we've known about it for hundreds of thousands of years. So everyone knows what we mean when we say "the moon".
But it has been given the names of gods and goddesses over the centuries - Selene, Luna, Diana, Artemis and Bendis to name a few.
it is called Luna
