Question about home wind turbines/solar panels?

Question:
Do you think it is feasible or worthwhile to have a wind turbine on your house or solar panels installed. I mean from a financial point of view rather than ethical. Do you know of any good websites?

Answer:
Its marginal at present. It will take more than 10 years, and probably 20, to recover the outlay (allowing for interest). So it depends on two things:

1. the price of electricity - if it falls, its less worthwhile, if it rises more
2. reliability - no one knows what the servicing costs are likely to be over 20 years, and they could wipe out any savings.
There ok. I think there's better, just no one can afford better yet.
If you get solar power the best thing to do is make a deal with your local power company to sell your excess energy on days when you don't need it and get a more reliable flow of electricity from them.

I don't know any good sites, but if try a search on specific models like i wanted to know about thermocouples but i just kept getting education sites, so i search a specific model of thremocouple and got a lot of good deals.
See solar panels and wind turbines cost a bit to install. But once you've installed them there is going to be no problem at all except the natural consequences like weak winds and little sunshine.
Wind turbines depend on your location. I'm still not satisfied with the cost to power ratio of solar panels, so I prefer to use the acreage for water heating purposes. Much more efficient. Have you considered an underground heat pump for power?
