Not sure but it would have to involve the evaporation of water. As water evaporates it has a cooling effect. It takes the heat away. For example: take a hot bottle of water, 20 oz. size. Put it in a sock, wet the sock. Set out side, the water will evaporate and the water will be cooled. We did this when I was in the first Gulf War.
