Are the Live Earth stage lights and amps solar powered?

Question:

Answer:
lmao - of couse not!!
live earth corbon footprint in total will be 74500 tonnes
I calculated my carbon footprint & it came to 3.4 tonnes for a year as a comparison.
There was an add on telly that the Wembely concert is powered by renewable energy - but the power comes from the national grid so you cant specify where your power comes from & less than 10% of Englands power is from renwable sources. Its all a load of tosh.
No, and I wonder if all the jets etc to get the performers all over the world were solar powered as well?
nope.. although if your on the way to wembley you will see a wind farm on the north circular road, just before you turn in..

but nothing to do with the stadium..hehe

its more funny.. they asked madge about her carbon footprint.. she tours, has 100 people entourage, was on the news... so i guess they should all practice what they preach and start using push bikes =)
most likely no lol i dont think they could produce enough power the bulbs might be energy savers :-)
the live earth website is hosted by a company that uses solar !
No - makes you wonder if the impact the event creates can undue the carbon impact of the events themselves.
That's what I heard.

But, how is this question about Astronomy, dodo?
No. They are powered by electricity generated by wind power. They have special filters on the mains supply that only allow in electrons generated by wind power. You can't tell the difference between nuclear power electrons and solar powered ones so booth are filtered out.
Obviously the people organizing it have thought about this, but no the event is not solar powered.

Not to mention that the audience and performers will create a vast amount of CO2 getting to and from the shows.

But, according to a story I read yesterday, the organizers are hiring an accounting firm to calculate the carbon footprint of it all. With that in hand, they intend to buy CO2 credits to offset the impact ... so regardless of the emissions, it should still be CO2 neutral in the end.

And that, BTW, is how the carbon trading is supposed to work.
No they have a large carbon footprint.
