·Can there be intelligent life elsewhere in the Solar System?

Question:

Answer:
Possibly, however, there may be planets outside of our solar system that have intelligent life forms, it would be ignorant to say we are the only life forms throughout the WHOLE universe! Somewhere, out there, there could be lifeforms on a earth-like planet that possibly are more intelligent and have Extremely Advanced technology than us. Also, their environment would probably make them look different to normal human beings, as environment also has an effect on our Physical looks. This is shown in twins.
Of course there is. Look at it.
yes there is were do you thing michael jacksons from earth
Very unlikely within the solar system.

There are a few moons(such as Europa) that may /possibly/ contain some form of microbial life, but there is absolutely no evidence to support the possibility of intelligent life within the solar system.

However, it is a near certainty that there is life elsewhere within the galaxy, and due to the sheer scale, it is also quite likely that some of it, somewhere, is intelligent.
yes i think there is

i mean do you really think that intelligent life is here on AnswersRoom.com?
Presently there are three know places of intelligent life in our solar system:
- Earth (because you are intelligent)
- Outside Earth in the ISS (crew is intelligent)
- Everywhere throughout the solar system - only GOD.
he is the most intelligent being and he can be everywhere.

P.S. Harry, thank you for your words of wisdom further down.
Keep on to spread the truth.
Probably not. Cahcnes are we'd have detected it by now. Let's see:

Mercury: Way too hot for any life- we haven't studied it in detail, but no civilisations have been detected.
Venus: Way too hot, the atmosphere is toxic adn can crush you and probes have been there and found bugger all.
Earth: Well, obvious.
Mars: Bacterial life? Disputed. Intelligent life? No. We'd have seen it.
Everywhere else: EIther a gas giant or a lump of ice.

There is however one exception: Jupiter's moon Europa may have a liquid ocean with volcanoes underneath its icy exterior. There MAY be life there. Probes are currently heading out to have a look. Even so, it probably ins't intelligent. Certainly nothing as advanced as us- we'd have communicated with it by now. It would probably resemble the sort of life you finda t the bottom of oceans.

There are certainly no advanced spacefaring cultures anywhere in the solar system; that much we do know.
No. The Earth is the only planet in the Solar System with intelligent life on it. More than 200 stars are known to have planets and some of the smaller planets may have life on them and it could be intelligent but the distance is too far to find out.
Of course there can be...people saying that there isn't just because humans can't survive on that planet doesn't mean anything! We have adapted to be able to live on Earth, so what's saying that other things haven't adapted to live where they live.I believe there's life out there!
I hope so, because the more I look the less I find here!

It depends what you class as intelligence. Bacteria can be classed as intelligent as they react to external stimuli. But if you are talking about more complex creatures, then possibly on Europa, Ganymeade or even Titan there may well be some multi celled more complex creatures as there is strong evidence of liquid under the heavy Ice crusts and they certainley do have have thermal signitures which show that there oceans as such could well possibly support life.
Some of the newer probes which are set to descend on those moons over the next 10 - 15 years may well surprise us.
In the book of Acts 17:26-27, it is written –

“And He has made all nations of men of one blood to dwell on all the face of the earth, ordaining fore-appointed seasons and boundaries of their dwelling, to seek the Lord, if perhaps they might feel after Him and find Him, though indeed He is not far from each one of us.”

Undoubtedly, there are other planets in our own galaxy and in billion other galaxies, but the reason why God created man on Earth from the dust of the ground (Genesis 2:7) is because it is the only planet in the entire universe wherein human life will comfortably fit. Think of this: The best place for your eyes is where it is now. Put them a little below, i.e., in the belly or thighs and you can imagine how ugly your person will be. Put your nose or ears in other places of your body and you will not be a work of art, as written in the book of Hebrews 2:6-7.

“But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man, that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man, that thou visitest him? Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands:” Human efforts and resources, which scientists devote in searching for other worlds that can sustain life, will be futile! Let us search, instead, from the Holy Scriptures the kingdom and the righteousness of God and discover a world called a “new Earth” where righteousness, peace, and love dwell (2 Peter 3:13).

“But according to His promise, we look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.”

research the drake equation. but statistically, yes. there is life of some kind out there undoubtedly.
No,not in the solar system, but in the third galaxy from ours.
no not in our solar system, there's none at all, not even on the planet Earth, but somewhere in our Galaxy's there will be but its like looking for a needle in a very large hay stack. I'm sure we will find intelligent life at sometime in the future, but whether that's in our life time is debatable. If our advances carry on at the speed it has done in the last 60yrs, then who knows we may find it earlier than even i think.
Do you consider us to be intelligent,,sometimes i wonder,, are we to smart for our own good, are we not smart enough to leave well enough alone, i do think threes some thing out there and, look for them when the stares are out and i hope its god preparing our place with him,,,.R
I wonder are there any trolls out there! :-)
Not in our Solar System, as most are telling you, but elsewhere in the Universe, it must, logically, be teeming with intelligent life. Some of that life could be just starting, but some could be billions of years older and, therefore, billions of years more advanced than us. Their technology would be totally incomprehensible to us. Space travel at speeds of 'thought' for example (no! I can't elaborate on that, I'm only human). But, since I'm not a Creationist and don't believe a god put us on this planet, and, since there is no fossil evidence to support The Theory of Evolution, I'm wondering if, perhaps, we are a, sort of, experiment of these extremely old and advanced Extra Terrestrials? What do you think?
