How does the repsonse to light of solar cells based on dyes compare wit that of cells based on silicon??

Question:
I need as much help as i can get...science fair is kicking my butt.

Answer:
One simple answer is that dye-based solar cells work on different ranges of wavelength than pure silicon-based cells. This makes more energy available to generate current. However, I do not have the information immediately available to give you an idea as to the relative efficiency of the two types.
You may want to check with manufacturers of the solar cell types for more information.
