That is a great question. There can be a certain affect that the Sol maximum can have on the planet as far as temperature, but to this day there is no evidence to point either way. There are so many factors that can effect the temperatures of this planet and trying to pick out one mechanism to study is difficult. It is like measuring the speed at witch a window fan is blowing during a wind storm. Good luck with that one. But there are many other impacts a solar maximum can have.
Read up on the "little ice age" from about 1600-1800.. presumed to be caused by lack of solar flares.
