Where are comets located?inside our solar system or outside?


Question:
forexample asteroids are found inside our solar system= between mars ans jupiter,what about comets?

Answer:
They're all around us! The one's we track most closely (such as Haley's) stay mostly within the Solar System under the gravity of the Sun.

There are two major sources for comets --

1)KUIPER BELT which begins just beyond the orbit of Neptune out to far beyond Pluto's orbit

2)OORT CLOUD which starts at about 1/2 light year away and extends outward for about 2 light years
