Why Dont People in Calafornia use Solar Power?
Question:
Why dont Americans use Solar power tro create most of their power .
Answer:
Solar power is only available when the sun shines. Some places in the US have so much Solar energy available that they could power much more than people in the UK do during the day. You just need to look at the fact that Electricity is widespead and solar power is not. People are just getting in to the green aspect of life.
It's much easier to pug into the mains than spend £500 on a panel then hook up all the complicated electronics then slowly start to pay off the benefit from not using electricity.
Wind turbines can cost from £500 up to over £100,000 each. Plus there is the hassle from people who say that they look ugly etc.
If you want to go green read this article I wrote for everyone. My garden is already solar powered. You can do it too...Save the planet. Let me know your comments on this one. Did it work for you? How much do you think you can save in a year or so?

where is Calafornia?
I know.
When I worked for this charity based in UK, we sold "Solar briefcases" that you stood on your window sill that could power your lights, charge your electronics etc. and it was fully portable.
Things like that are available and I find it weird that sunny places don't take advantage of the free energy that would ensure an independent and secure energy supply.
I mean, the same goes for Britain. The UK has potentially the largest offshore wind resource in Europe (if not the World) and hardly any of our energy supply is from wind. Instead we rely on other countries (dare I say dodgy ones too) for oil and gas.
In the end it makes so much more sense, financially and for security, to be self-reliant with our energy sources. We'd also be able to breathe cleaner air. I'm not sure I ever have breathed unpolluted air. My kids probably won't either, if governments don't push things forward.
Too much man power.
