How many bodies within our solar system are officially classified as planets?

Question:
This question does not include any moons of the major planets.

Answer:
Ten. A new planet has been discovered that is approximately the same size as Pluto. It has not yet been formally named. Check http://www.nasa.gov/vision/universe/sola... for more info:)
Nine
at the moment nine are, but there is significant debate concerning pluto and other objects recently found on the far edges of the solar system
There are nine. But a debate has started about Pluto. It appears it is in the kuplier belt. it this belt there are also a few other ice giants. One being 125% larger than Pluto. Which means they will either take planetary status away from Pluto or add the others in. The largest ice giant they have found is named Xena.
Right now there are nine. Some scientists are saying that pluto should not be named as a planet anymore.Scientist are arguing.I think there might be other planets orbiting other stars in other galaxies far away.
currently nine but sience is looking at pluto as a kuiper belt object, but also they have found two other pluto sized objects and one is called sedna and i do not remember the other,
nine!!
