I need to find out what everyone knows about the solar system. Does anybody know about the solar system?
Question:
Answer:
yes....
There are 8 planets orbiting the Sun. In order (from the Sun outwards) they are:
Mercury (has no moons)
Venus (has no moons)
Earth (has one Moon)
Mars (has 2 moons - Phobos and Deimos)
Jupiter ( has at least 63 moons and a very faint ring)
Saturn (has at least 56 moons and the largest set of rings)
Uranus (has at least 27 moons)
Neptune (has at least 13 moons)
Other notable objects include Pluto and Charon (Pluto was recently declassified from being a planet - Charon is either Pluto's moon or a minor-planet like pluto, together forming a bi-minor-planet system)
Ceres is the largest asteroid in the Solar system (sometimes classified as a minor planet). It is situated in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter.
Beyond pluto there are other minor-planets such as Xena (named after the warrior princess) and Sedna.
The sun is our local star and dominates the solar system. After the sun the next major objects are the planets in this order:
Jupiter
Saturn
Neptune
Uranus
Earth
Venus
Mars
Io (one of Jupiters moons)
Callisto (another moon of jupiter)
Titan (a moon of Saturn)
Mercury
and then our moon
The list goes on and on..
Other objects include comets which are balls of ice and dust, the most famous being Halley's Comet.
Now i think you have enough details to do your own research.good luck
If you want to do something different, determine acceleration values of masses within the inner-core area of the planet and our sun. You shall find there are area within the planets where mass cannot exist due to the acceleration force of gravity. In our sun the distance is 400 miles from its center. In our planet the distance is 0.716 miles. You would have to draw your own conclusion as to what lies inside these areas. I have no idea what your teacher would think of it, because it is NOT mainstream. http://360.yahoo.com/noddarc "Time, Energy, and Gravity" may be of interest.

search for clesestia, it's a space simulator. you can fly around our solar sistem and far away.
