Solar system for science homework?

Question:
Why is the study of comets, asteroids, and meteoroids important in understanding the formation of the solar system? I think I know the answer but I cant word it properly.

Answer:
They are important in understanding the solar system because we wouldn't know that our planets and all the other planets were made from meteors. If they weren't here, we wouldn't have known that they formed the solar system.
well its important beacause these comets, asteroids, etc are thought to contain the primordial elements responsible for the formation of the planets...if tht helps
