Is a solar flare billions of stars held together by grayitational attraction?

if you use a very loose definition of what a star is, then i guess you could look at it that way, but otherwise, no, not so much
my thought was that a solar flare was a realease of intense solar energy kind of like a gas explosion but on a much larger proportion...
