Are solar panels any good?
Question:
Answer:
Of course they are - just ensure you get the best efficiency ones you can find and ensure they are placed correctly to maximise the amount of sunlight hitting them in every season.
For generating power - Yes.
As earings - probably not.
yes but very expensive
Yes - I've got some stiched into my trousers. Not only do they make for a great fashion statement, but I can also boil water for a fresh cup of tea whenever and wherever I wish.
they need sunlight, the more the sunlight is directed to them the better, dull daylight will cause lower output and voltage may not be enough for your applications,i use them in the summer months, there o.k but you need a back up for winter months,if your thinking of buying some low voltage, for example 12 volt 12 watts = 1 amp for batary charging
Sounds like they are!

I'm probably biased, but yes, in general they are good. Of course there are cheaper ones out there, and some are more efficient than others. It all depends on what you want to use them for. Some of the best though (BP Solar for example) will last 25 years easily and some think they may go 40 years.
