Do solar powered lawn lamps charge while power switch is off?

Question:

Answer:
That depends on their design, but the answer is usually yes. Since there is litle reason for the lamps to be lit when the sun is shining, these systems are usually designed to charge a battery to provide power when, as they say, "the sun don't shine." The solar cell is usually set up to charge the battery whether or not the switch that directs power from the battery to the lamp is in its on position.
I think so
YES,however, they only charge when the sun is shining on the solar arrays(panels)...but to be more exact even if your switch is OFF or ON, the batteries inside only get charged when the sun shines on the solar panel. Your solar lamp SWITCH is used to power the LED's ON,and OFF it has no bearing on the charging of the batteries.

(in most cases with the made in china lamps but not all)
