Question:

Answer:
For solar electric information in terms you can understand go to www.oynot.com .

However start out by getting 12 months of electric bills and total them all and divide by 12 months to get an avg. Divide that number by 30 to get your daily usage. Then get your peak sun hours per day from this page http://www.oynot.com/solar-insolation-ma... . Divide your daily usage by the hours on the chart and you have how many watts you will require in solar panels.

To size your inverter you need to find the item in your home that uses the most electric and any items that will be on at the same time. Total the wattage for all these items and you will have your inverter size.

If you want battery backup you will need to know how many days you will be running from battery power.

Charge controller size and qty along with battery size and qty will be determined by the above information.
