IS anyone using Solar Panels to generate electricity?

Question:
I want other people's opinions on using Solar Panels to generate electricty for the home. Is the initial investment worth the trouble? How quickly can I recoup my expense? How long do they last? etc

Answer:
Solar is making a big come back right now esp in commercial businesses. IT depends on where you located as to whether or not it would be a good option for you. PV cells are sensitive and have to be set up perfectly to run in optimum condition. A small shadow over the smallest part of the panel will knock out the entire panels usage. Hopefully you can call a licensed electrician in your area who has some expertise in the field. If you're in San Joaquin County, email me I can help. steele_luv@yahoo.com
I think it was the 70's they were big. THe government had grants out and everyone wasputting these panels on. But it seems like now hey are just too expensive/inefficient. And price per pound it just makes sense to buy oil or electric.
