Can i see a partial solar eclipse with a pair of regular binoculars? wil it be dangerous?

Question:
because its no fun using a pinhole camera ? wht is the best way to see it live?

Answer:
TERRIBLY dangerous, to look at the sun through binoculars, even for a second. You WILL burn your retinas and destroy your eyesight. You will never recieve a driving licence, for instance.
Use binoculars as a projector by all means, cut a hole the size of the object lens in one piece of card and wedge it onto the front, then hold another white card behind them. You'll get a good view that way if there are no clouds.
best wishes, and good viewing!
You can use binoculars.. However, it will be the last thing you ever see, because an unfortunate side effect of doing this is that you will go completely blind afterwards!
i suggest wearing something like a welding mask if you want to check it out. otherwise, watch it on the internet...
Looking at a partial solar eclipse through binoculars will blind you. It _is_ possible to safely view the partial phase by projecting an image of the sun onto a screen or piece of paper with binoculars, but I recommend sticking with a pinhole camera.

You can also view the eclipse on the web with this site: http://www.exploratorium.edu/eclipse/200...
dude i think u should do it, and ask smone to write here for u afterwards waht it really felt like ... i never had the chance of smone telling how it feels to have u'r eyes burnt in under a second (looking atthe sun directly for 2-3 seconds can damage u'r retina permanently using binoculars like . sheesh u crazy?
