Why is are solar system calledthe Sun's family?

Question:

Answer:
Our solar system is called the sun's family because the big bang was the result of a huge explosion in the sun . After the explosion the planets were formed and that is why it called the sun's family.
Never heard it called that...but if the solar system is a family, then the sun would definitely be the head of it because everything revolves around the sun.
Actually, that's the first I've heard of it. But it sounds like it would be because the Sun is the principal body of the solar system, composing by far the majority of the total mass, being the center of gravity, and providing most of the life-sustaining energy.
Because the root word Solar means Sun or Star and System is the system of planet around it so we live in a star system. Perfect Name if you ask me
Just about everything in the Solar System besides the sun; planets, moons, asteroids, meteoric particles are leftovers from the creation of our star from the primordial dust and gas cloud.

The sun represents 99.9% of the mass of the Solar System - that means everything else in the Solar system only accounts for 1/1000 th of it.

So, that pretty much tells you why it is the sun's family. The sun is everything, the rest, including Earth, is just flotsam.
