Why do we study the solar system?
Question:
Answer:
Because it is there. :^)
Different people have different reasons.
One driver is the quest to know whether we are alone in the universe or if there are others like us out there, wondering some of the same thoughts as we do.
It is fascinating to know that we are not the only planet in the universe -- that there are other planets. And if there are other planets, how are they similar and how are they different to our Earth? And, could life arise on these planets? And do these other planets give us any idea of our own planet began and how it changed over time?
By studying the movement of the planets, we understand more about gravity and how it behaves as a force.
So many other reasons ... so little time to write.
We study the solar system because eventually the Earth will be destroyed like all things. Should their be survivors, we will need to find another "home", therefore studying the solar system and other systems farther away, we are actually looking for another possible future home. Also, there are some interesting things, some of which can be used to benefit us, cure disease, improve on things and materials we have already, etc.
because earth is a part of the solar system and we should know information about it. if it exists you should learn about it.
