Does solar power just use "visible light range" of EM spectrum?
Question:
Answer:
you can use any part of the elecromagnetic spectrum for for solar power as long as the material can absorb it and produce electricity.
a crystal radio ( or even a regular radio ) uses the radio waves ( not visible ) to create a tiny current in the radio that are converted to sound waves for our pleasure.
what part of the spectrum used depends entirely on your choice of material.
they use some UV too.MIKE
Solar power can use many spectra. It depends on the material used for passive solar heating arrays to photovoltaic cells. It can be outside visible light range, both lower and higher wavelengths.
