I have a Buddhist question: are there any Buddhist solar adorations? What are they?

Question:
I am certainly aware that there are "solar" aspects to all of the great spiritual teachings. For example, the Bible speaks of "the Sun of Righteousness" in Malachi & of a Davidic solar vision in Psalms 19. The Hindu Gayatri mantra is solar (a SPIRITUAL, internal Sun, not the one in the sky - this also has to do w/the passage of the seasons, marking time). The ancient Egyptians were certainly into our shining orb, not sure about Islam yet.
My question is, what is the Buddhist contribution? I know they believe that all spiritual entities are mere forms of "Buddha consciousness", a primordial essence beyond time & space that is STILL not a "God" - that's another form!
I can't find this on any of the Buddhist links I've checked. Sorry for asking something so hard.

Answer:
The phrase Sun of Enlightenment is one (see reference below). Look up references to the Sun-faced Buddha. This is another solar reference.
Unlike many religions which attempted to swallow pagan worshippers, Buddhism accepted no outside dogma or symbols except as they enhanced the concept of the Path to Enlightenment. Many in the West have a very hard time understanding what this means.
