Why can't they make solar batteries that automatically recharge themselves when thrown into the sunlight?

Question:
Why couldn't they just take traditional AAA, AA, C, & D cell batteries, & wrap the outsides with something useful, such as a solar panel wrapping.

When your batteries go dead, toss em on a sunny window sill, come back later for a fully recharged battery. No muss, no fuss, & no expensive charging equipement in the way?

Seems like a good idea to me..., put the charger on the battery?

What do you think?

Answer:
In my opinion it has to do with money. If you recharge your batteries all the time, you don't need to buy new ones. And well, that would bring profits down.
