Solar power works for calculators, so why not mobile phones. It would also be possible to store the solar energy in a battery. Burning flowers to generate power would also release as much or pollution as burning oil, but you'd need a lot more flowers.
Oil does not come from flowers. Honey bees come from flowers. I saw it myself.
