Is ceres the tenth plant of our solar system? do we really have more than ( planets)?
Question:
Answer:
Ceres is an asteroid in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter. It was the first object to be discovered in this region. Regarding the second part of the questions, the Sol System contains officially contains 9 planets. There is debate as to whether Sedna and others should be classified as planets or not.

It depends on the definition of planet!
Some scientists still argue whether Pluto is actually a planet or not, if their argument is just then we only have 8.
Ceres is pretty much just an irregular shaped rock that has a solar orbit, there could be many more similar or smaller items further out.
zena or xena is being considered the 10th planet, it is beyond pluto and a little larger than it. Ceres is in the asteroid belt with other asteroids much closer to the sun and much much smaller than a planet. Ceres is about 600 miles across, that's about the size of texas.
We probably have 11 planets.
The 9 more well known: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto.
Then there are currently (I think), 3 others being considered for "planethood".
These are Quaoar, Xena and Sedna.
Quaoar is located in the Kuiper belt, but does look like a planet! Xena and Sedna are small (about Pluto's size), but very far away from the Sun.
I know that makes 12 in total, but I don't think Quaoar counts as a planet, as it is in the Kuiper belt!
