Can birth defects be caused by a solar eclipse?

Question:

Answer:
some people believe that when ever there is an eclipse pregnant women shouldn't move about while the eclipse is going on. it may effect the child
no
Absolutely and definitely NO.

Cheers,
Don't be ridiculous!
Gullible is not in the dictionary!
The moon exerts exactly the same gravitational pull on the earth despite what 'phase' it is in - so whether it's full, half, new or in eclipse, it's pull on the earth is exactly the same.

The total gravitational pull can vary slightly depending on the relative positions of the sun and moon (causing neap and spring tides) but nothing that us as humans would notice.

So no, solar eclipses do not cause birth defects or send people mad for that matter!
Like blindness, probably. The rest is pure crap.
You don't get birth defects caused by night, do you?
im not sure...but some people do believe that solar eclipse has its effects on pregnant ladies...if we are going 2 watch it with naked eyes,it may have some adverse effects on our eyes
