Efficiencey of a solar energy, system involve in solar energy & the cost involve in solar energy?
Question:
Answer:
The sun gives 1000 watts per meter square. 15% of this energy can be utilized by solar panels.
It is suppose to be very efficient, only the cost is high. But the cost of energy it considerably less. You have to use it long term for the amount saved to offset the amount spent. So it is good for the long run.
Hey! you first take tuition for English grammar !
initial cost is high.. but then its basically nothing from then on.
once you have the solar panel its pretty much free.
there are also other more efficient ways to utilize solar energy such as parabolic mirrors focusing the light on a pipe of oil and using that to drive a turbine... thats what is used large scale. .. the only actual solar farm i've seen used this method.
but again.. after the initial investment its mostly free.. since the mirror/oil method has moving parts there might be some minor maintenence every few years like new bearings for the turbine ect... but obviously its more efficient because thats whats used large scale.
or you could grow crops with it and ferment into ethonal to power things.
In the US, a typical house would require about $25,000. It would consist of solar panels, battery bank, controllers, and a good generator. Even with this system, you could not have much heating or air conditioning without running generator which is expensive. According to where you live (lots of sunny days or not), you may have to run generator many days if in tropical areas.
Many environmentelists will tell you we can all just use solar. This is not exactly true. First, can you afford it? Second, do you live in an area where it is usable? third, are you willing to put up with no AC? Running Generator all the time? etc., etc.
The fact is that solar power works. It is just not cost-effective in most areas, and is expensive to install. It also usually requires some inconvenience, like camping.
Probably the best we can do is to just install a small collector system we can afford, and supplement our power usage which will reduce pollution. As fuel cost increase over time, then maybe solar will become more cost-effective.
