No, a AC light bulb will not operate on DC current. If you are running a 12v DC panel hooked up to a 12 volt battery your local hardware store should sell 12v light bulbs. They look just like a 110v light bulb and will thread into the same socket. The bulbs should be clearly marked. You can also get a 12v DC to 110v AC converter that will you to run low amperage 110v AC off a 12v battery.

Not just any bulb will work on DC power. Any light bulb that is for 110voltage will not work on DC power because the element has too much resistance for a DC power supply to create enough heat to generate light from the element. However the do make light bulbs that are designed to operate on a DC power supply and I would highly recomend using the right bulb with the right power supply. purchase some 12volt bulbs to be safe...
