Why are we the only planet in the solar system that supports human life and left to ponder on life elsewhere?

Just take one look at the diversity of the planets in our own solar system. All with different atmospheres, heat, light etc. Imagine the diversity of the planetary systems around stars throughout our galxay. Then imagine the diversity there would be throughout the universe.
It just so happens that the Earth resides the right distance from the sun, with the right atmosphere, at the right temperature and with liquid water on it's surface. And many other things that support life.
Nobody knows why. It is the way it is. The anthropic principle: We see the universe the way it is because if it were different we would not be here to observe it.
Because we're d*** lucky. And we ponder becasue we're that odd creature, human.
we are the inhabitants of the planet not the planet itself (i think) and we ponder on life elsewhere because we would rather do that than contemplate our navel...go figure.
Because we aren't the only other planet that supports life, the other planets have just managed to find ways to keep the peeping tom Earth from finding them.
We just happen to have the one planet that has all the right conditions for life: Liquid water, oxygen, proper temperature range.
This is simply because 'pondering' is an attribute of humans.
You could ask the same sort of question for any material thing-
Why are the methane oceans of io the only methane oceans in our solar system?
The trick is to see that we have a bias. A bias towards human things. We think ourselves some special and miraculous thing. And it's that sense of 'special' which gives your question seeming importance. Historically, science has been an attempt to overcome this 'humanocentric' view and see the larger picture without our inborn bias.
Hard thing to do, but we are slowly managing it. The earth isn't the center of the solar system anymore, nor the center of the galaxy. We are trying to overcome the 'man is the measure of all things' bias.
well u see i don't know if u believe in the big bang theory but here's something that will sum it up, God spoke and Bang! it happened. I saw that on a icon. anyway. we have a purpose on this earth not just to live but to live for God. this all wasn't an accident. i mean cells or whatever the scientist say, just don't go together on there own. and in Genesis it tells us that God only made one earth.it says "God created the heavens and the earth" quote earth not planets. have u ever heard that life is sorta like a game. well it is. and when ever u get a game u always look at the instructions to see how to play the game. well the bible is are instructions to the game of life. the reason u play a game is to win right. well with life if u follow Gods instructions u will win, and the prize is heaven. but if u just take a guess on this game of life well you will lose. when people say there life is crappy its most likely because ur not playing it right. read Gods word. and pray. so that's why were are the only planet in the solar system and the only one that supports human life.
earth can support life because it has the so called Goldilocks conditions not to hot not to cold liquid water a source of living organisms (probably from an astroid) right size right air right gases and a rock planet
Hey! Don't take it too fast. We may not be the only planet...we gotta search the whole universe to find out if we ARE th eonly one and we haven't even completely searched our planet. Do we know anything about the B. Triangle and other stuff?? no, not really.
So first we gotta figure out what is going on in our earth and find out what happens outside...

Water is a unique chemical. Things can live without oxygen, but they can't live without water.
