Why the use of solar energy is very less when compard to other energies?
Question:
Answer:
Too Expensive!
The places where solar energy would be cost-efficient, are the same places where the oil and gas industry is prominent.
Also , a few yrs ago , some people had bad experiences with solar energy because the technology was under developed.
I was told once that the amount of energy from a solar panel if placed over the entire roof of a house would not be enough to run the average home. Were things like wind mills and such produce more energy to less space requirements. Hope this helps.
Because solar energy requires condensation using a particular apparatus and it can also be harzadous to the user.
It might be due to that its expensive to install...
cause alot of people dont know about solar energy. plus those who do already know about the costly equipment that needs to be bought when using solar energy products. From air conditioners, to room heaters it is actually more expensive plus you also have to buy the large solar power catchers get them installed and etc...while with all of the other all you gotta do is buy and pay your bill.
Money makes the world go round. When you stop using fossil fuels and the like, not very many people make money. It's politics really. If you have fuel, you have power, if you have power, you have money. Dominance and control is what it's all about. The common sense stuff doesn't put money in the pockets of the world's leaders.
It is not cost effective.
Solar energy comes in many forms. Voltaic cells produce electricity, but are remarkably inefficient and the cells wear out relatively quickly...The cells are expensive to install and expensive to replace. They also require sun...available only for a certain period each day.
Solar energy can produce steam by use of collection mirrors and focusing the rays ... but the space required to do this, and the conversion to useful energy that can be transmitted is cumbersome and inefficient. Wind and water power are far more convenient to harness, require far less space for a given unit of energy. And, both wind and water do not rely on the sun's shining to work.
It's not as efficient, which is to say it costs more than the alternatives for an equivalent amount of energy. And in many instances, far more. But scientists and engineers are busy working on it. There's enormous profits for the developer of practical solar energy. Solar cells are cheaper and more common now compared to just a few years ago, and their applications are correspondingly expanding. You can bet that major oil companies are working on this too, since they don't want to go out of business as oil becomes more scarce and expensive.
Don't worry. In future it will be
