What is closest star from our solar system & how long is it?

Question:

Answer:
Here are those nearer than 10 light years away:

Note that several of these are double or triple stars in a star system

Name, Distance, Apparent Magnitude, Absolute Magnitude
Proxima Centauri V645 Cen 4.2 11.05 (var.) 15.5
Rigil Kentaurus Alpha Cen A 4.3 -0.01 4.4
Alpha Cen B 4.3 1.33 5.7
Barnard's Star 6.0 9.54 13.2
Wolf 359 CN Leo 7.7 13.53 (var.) 16.7
BD +36 2147 8.2 7.50 10.5
Luyten 726-8A UV Cet A 8.4 12.52 (var.) 15.5
Luyten 726-8B UV Cet B 8.4 13.02 (var.) 16.0
Sirius A Alpha CMa A 8.6 -1.46 1.4
Sirius B Alpha CMa B 8.6 8.3 11.2
its name is "Proxima" - the closest. If you'll travel with speed 7,8km/h you'll get there after 160 000 years. It's invisible for an eye.
The closest star is Proxima Centauri in Alpha Centauri. As the name suggests, it is located in the constellation of Centaurus.

Proxima Centauri was discovered in 1915. If you travel in orbit at 7.8 km/s. At this speed, it would take 160,000 years to reach Proxima.

Ofcourse- Sun is the nearest star, Since the question is
What is closest star from our solar system & how long is it?, Sun is included in it.

Correction is needed after seeing the answers
SUN is the nearest star.
The sun is eventually our closest star. It is a member of the Milky Way galaxy. However Proxima Centauri also called alpha centauri is the closest star to the earth(other than the sun), at a distance of 4.28 light-years.
Stars are spherical and don't really have a length.
