What is solar energy?

Question:

Answer:
The term solar power is used to describe a number of methods of harnessing energy from the light of the Sun. It has been present in many traditional building methods for centuries, but has become of increasing interest in developed countries as the environmental costs and limited supply of other power sources such as fossil fuels are realized. It is already in widespread use where other power supplies are absent, such as in remote locations and in space.
solar energy is energy that comes from the sun to power up stuff
Solar energy is energy from the sun. In energy sources they are talking about the energy converted from the lights rays into electrical energy via solar cells.
The energy received directly and indirectly from the sun, as opposed to energy from primary or secondary energy from fuels
Direct radiant energy from the sun. It also includes indirect forms of energy such as wind, falling or flowing water (hydropower), ocean thermal gradients, and biomass, which are produced when direct solar energy interact with the earth. See solar radiation.
It is a form of energy obtained by converting the energy of a quanta of light at a certain wavelength into electrical energy. The quantum enters the silicon (or similar semi-conductor material) wafer doped with another semiconductor that is next to it in the periodic table. In the process, an electron is knocked loose. This hole is then filled with another electron that is readily available from the other semiconductor present. This liberating of electrons (via the photoelectric effect, thanks Einstein) creates a moving charge, which in turn produces a current. Now you know all.
In addition to the above, solar energy is also used to heat water for houses. It is used for refrigeration, cooking, rotary motion through stirling engines and produce electricity directly through solar panels.
solar energy is the energy provided by the sun and collected in solar cells.
Solar cells are also called photovoltaic cells - or PV cells for short - and can be found on many small appliances, like calculators, and even on spacecraft. They were first developed in the 1950s for use on U.S. space satellites. They are made of silicon, a special type of melted sand.

When sunlight strikes the solar cell, electrons (red circles) are knocked loose. They move toward the treated front surface (dark blue color). An electron imbalance is created between the front and back. When the two surfaces are joined by a connector, like a wire, a current of electricity occurs between the negative and positive sides.

The electrical energy from solar cells can then be used directly. It can be used in a home for lights and appliances. It can be used in a business. Solar energy can be stored in batteries to light a roadside billboard at night. Or the energy can be stored in a battery for an emergency roadside cellular telephone when no telephone wires are around.

Some experimental cars also use PV cells. They convert sunlight directly into energy to power electric motors on the car.
Solar energy is when rays that contain energy travel from the sun to the earth
The energy coming from sun.Solar energy consist of both heat and light.
(nearly) All energy on earth comes from the sun.

Solar radiation can heat directly or power photovoltaics.

It powers the weather and ocean currents, and (nearly) all life through plant photosynthisis. Oil is stored sunlight.

Solar gravitation powers the tides and the magma, giving rise to magnetic fields and driving plate techtonics.
solar energy is the power from the sun. sometimes u can see solar panels on roof tops.some scientists are also trying to make cars which run on solar energy so thaqt we can save petrol.
using sunlight as source of power and getting them through arrays of batteries and generate electricity is called solar energy
