If so, what kind is it and do you like it ? I'm not talking about solar blankets - I mean an actual heater. I'm thinking of converting to solar but I don't know anyone who has one and if they work good.
Answer:
I live in Greece and solar is used a lot for hot water here, a solar panel with expansion/holding tank connected. It works well enough and if there is enough sun where you live than it should do. If you do not get enough hours per day of sun then such a system can be integrated wit an electric (backup) system.

ha ha . ALL outdoor pools have solar heating .
A friend ran the water from the filter so it pumps into black pipe that he ran zig zag pattern on the roof of his garage. It heats the pool in sunny weather for free.
