How the solar lantern works?

Question:

Answer:
The basic idea of solar lanterns is this: Sunlight shines on photoelectric cells which generate a voltage in sinlight. This voltage charges rechargeable batteries (Nicad, Lithium) during the day when the sun is out. When night comes, another type of photoelectric cell senses that there is no more light and switches the solar light on which then runs off the charged batteries.
