My old solar heater used what I would describe as black pvc pipes. wheree can I find new piping?

If it is PVC it would be the heat resistant PVC. It has a higher melting point than the regular PVC plastic. You should be able to get some from Lowe's or Home Depot to replace it.
Pvc is white. Black is ABS plastic, you can get it at most local hardware stores.
CPVC would work fine in this application.contact me if you need more info
Black is also poly, available at hardware and irrigation stores.
Hm, having worked with this in the past it does not have a very good Absorptivity/Emissivity rating at all, you are far better off with copper tubing painted Matt black with heatproof paint, the A/E rating of that is nearly 1, whereas the plastic is probably only .7 at max (white is 0)
