Project Idea for Solar Energy?

Answer:
Build a small solar oven. Build a small plexiglas box with a plexiglas lid that flips open. Line the rim of the lid with rubber stripping, and put a latch on the lid that pulls it against the weatherstripping to form a nice seal. Line the bottom <outside> with black construction paper and leave the inside bottom uncovered. Line the sides <inside> with aluminum foil to reflect the incoming sunlight and recirculate it. This will warm a plate of food pretty fast on a sunny day. You can even cook simple meals in it, in a few hours, although I wouldn't do chicken or pork <anything that has to be cooked thoroghly>.

I would suggest a project which shows how the efficiency of a solar panel is affected by the wavelength of the light hitting it as well as the intensity. Read the Energy Loss in a Solar Cell section in the following link.
