Solar-heated pools?

Question:
radiation, absorption, insulation, and convection
Good question! Most heat loss in a pool is by evaporation. So a pool cover keeps the water from evaporating both overnight and during sunny times. Even large clear or translucent hoop shaped plastic devices would help without covering the entire pool. There is a solar constant at the earth's outer atmosphere
