How to remove solar window film from a patio door? We bought a old house, and the film has dog nose prints?

It's probably stuck on the inside part of the door. Look on the edge of the glass and you'll proably see where some of the film ends. Get a plain razor blade and score the film and start scraping the film off. Use some laquer thinner to loosen the adhesive.
At the bottom of the door, in a far corner. Use a key[car , house,...] and try to peel it back from the edge. If you need to wet it try window cleaner.

I removed old window tint from several windows.
I was given the following instructions from a man at Ace Hardware, and it worked!
Window film remover
Mix the following in a bucket:
1 tsp dish detergent
1 tsp baking soda
1 pint warm water
1 pint rubbing alcohol
Score old window film with blade.
sponge on the solution and let it soak in.
Scrape off with a razor blade.
I used one of those metal gadgets that holds the razor blade. Have a large box of blades on hand. I found that the job was easier and faster when I had a fresh sharp blade.
