What are the best materials to use for a solar cooker?
Question:
Answer:
Starters go with mirrors. just need mirrors same size as pot. Incorporate some styrofoam for insulation, like a cooler but bigger. may paint outside flat black to pickup stray rays, but not super important (may not help last step for tweaking). glazed glass would help, but i have used saran wrap with reasonable results. your project should be CHEAP as a main ingredient. whats the point of a 100 dollar box. think cardboard, saran wrap, 97cent paint, paint pot. Ive had 217 degrees by focusing 8 mirrors on a 2 liter bottle. mirrors same size as bottle, with above design. box size was about 15 inches high and deep by 2.5 foot wide. cost next to nothing. i was impressed, so was the bottle it started to melt. by the way you might spray the bottle with aluminum paint first then the flat black. gives the bottle a mirror surface on the inside. clear bottle not green. mirrors perform way better than foil. foil scatters.
take some wooken stikes and bild a small sqare the smaler the beter have one side tied with twist ties like a hing and cover it with plactic rap than make 3 to 6 sqares and rap them with aluminal foial than curve the foil so itss like a lenz
( [] ) like so put the food in the box place the lenes arouned the box make shure theay are reflecting spotes of light in the box
PS use a cupple of layers of plastic rap and have the door open with the hinges on top

if you can get a lot of mirrors that is the best way (thats whats used to make the giants lasers that scienctists use) but also you should position a magnifying glass over where the light enters, this is a good way to increase your power!
