I need help with this physics solar power question please?
Question:
At a certain location, the solar power per unit area reaching the Earth's surface is 200 W/m^2, averaged over a 24-hour day. If you live in a house whose average power requirement is 3 kW and you can convert solar power to electric power with 10% efficiency, how large a collector area will you need to meet all your household energy requirements from solar energy? Will it fit your yard? please explain in simple terms - thanks
Answer:
If you getting 20 watts for your solar panel and you need 3,000 watts then you need 150 square meters of panels. If you have a yard that big and a rich dad to buy the panels you can do it for sure.
