Is there such a thing as a solar powered turbine engine that is feasible for home use on a broad scale?

Question:

Answer:
Home use? I do not think so. If you are thinking about building one I would advise caution since high pressure and temperatures are part of the system.

For some odd designs see reference provided.
plase elborate on your solar powerd turbine engine, what exactly is goin to turn the turbine of your engine?? light waves?? no way... please either provide addn details if you have something more specific in mind.
If not then no.
No. But we do have "Solar Turbines" though... :)

Maybe you mean steam turbines? But I dun think solar energy is sufficient to create enough steam to drive the blades...
There are companies working on solar concentrators that would drive a closed cycle turbine (reverse Rankine). These are generally upwards of 25 kW in capacity and won't fit in your backyard. There is a company working on a residential-scale (3 kW) concentrating solar Stirling power system that would accomplish the same thing though.
