Are you proud of Al Gore for putting solar panels on his house?
Question:
But...it takes more kilowatt-hours of electricity to produce a solar panel than they will return in energy output in their lifetime, so you waste energy every time you buy one.
Hell, don't believe me, research it yourself.
Solar panels are great where there is no other power available, but putting them on a house that can buy electricity for 8 cents per hwh is just stupid, and is done to convince the ignorant that we are doing "our part" to solve the "problem", when actually the problem is made worse.
Be a Democrat if you want. But be an informed Democrat, and put your huckster spokesman in line.
Answer:
His whole argument on global warming is a joke. As soon as they included buying carbon credits to offset energy use, I knew it was a fraud. We all want to be energy independent, that is what we should be working on, not making up ways to collect money. Alternative energy and reducing pollution is a good cause, but don't use fear and control to get your way.
"Carbon credits" make everything all right
And what are you and your scared of the world republican friends doing to try and make the world a better place?
Not a lot
Delphi... you just described the entire GOP following cheney and bush
LOL
Don't be fooled by fat Al. It's not about being ecological, it's all about making money of his scare tactics.
The stupid uninformed libs would follow him off a cliff if he led them there. In fact, I wish he would, it would do us all a great service.
Its good for him, because he can sell unused energy back to the power company.
Not to mention the amount of pollution created producing the raw material to make the components of the panels. One of the biggest being the use of fossil fuel.
AlGore is a huckster.
I am glad a politician is taking a visable stand on global warming and keeping it in the public eye, but I was disappointed to learn of what an "energy hog" Mr. Gore is in real life. I read that the day after he won an Academy Award, some watchdog group outed his energy use.
My house doesn't have heat or air conditioning, I am well below the average on my utility bill that shows average use per household. I think we can all cut back some if we just try a little.
I would be glad when he quits telling me how to live with no energy but uses 20 times the usage of an average american. When he stop flying private jets, lying about the impact of carbon credits, and if fully honest about the economic costs of Kyoto and other environmental regs would have on our economy then I will be happy.
Funny thing is that the answer is right under our noses,it's called Nuclear power. Every nation that we are constantly compared to by the left,as they tell us how much pollution we put out compared to them has one thing in common, they all use nuclear power. They want electric cars, but if you end up using coal to create that electricity you gain nothing. And wind and solar are nowhere near creating enough electricity to solve the problem. And as you point out they are often counter productive, how many migratory birds are killed by windmills for example,it's a huge problem as a matter of fact. But nuclear is a source of cheap, clean and abundant power, and even its down sides are highly over emphasized. Yet it's fought at every turn by those who want us to clean up our act, because the goal is not environmental cleanliness it's the holding back of US economy and influence. Meanwhile people like Al Gore use 20 times the american average in just one of his homes, and then tell us we must drive cars that will have to be deathtraps just to meet mileage standards. Don't take my word for it,look at what happened to death rates in america compared to number of accidents during the period when we were building all these cars that got the mpg that people like gore want. But why should he care,he won't be on the killing field that the interstate system will become,he will be 37,000 feet above it watching the carnage and sipping champagne. So make Al Gore happy,go buy a pinto or festiva, but don't forget to tell your kids how much you love them before every trip,it might be the last opportunity you get.

Al Gore is a good and honest man.
If you are looking for hypocrisy in our government, start with your own party. They need the most help in that area, there is no question about that.
i would be proud of al if his house was in france
WE MAY GET LUCKY AND HE COULD FALL OFF THE
ROOF WHILE HE'S DOING IT!
I find Al Gores overall message offensive and hypocritical. If youre poor or middle class, reduce, reuse, and recycle. (the 3 R's of the environment)
But if youre rich, just use whatever the heck you want and just throw money at it.
Remember, mother nature only likes the polution you pay for!
